Those interested in the origins and history of the WSPUS will learn a great deal from the following book, also available through Amazon, about one of the founding members of our party:
Karla Doris Rab, Role-Modeling Socialist Behavior: The Life and Letters of Isaac Rab (2010). Link to Amazon. Also available online here.
Isaac Rab (1893 – 1986) was a well-known agitator for socialism in the Boston area, as a soapbox orator, a lecturer, and a teacher. He organized a Boston Local of the WSPUS in 1932 and for many years was a central figure in its activity. In this book his late granddaughter Karla Doris Rab tells the story of his life and presents a large selection of his surviving correspondence as well as many photographs.
